As a Senior Rail Systems Engineer at AECOM, you will lead safety-focused railway systems work within the Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance team. You’ll shape system definitions, requirements, and architectures to support complex rail projects across the UK. You will guide technical decisions, ensure quality, and act as a senior resource for multidisciplinary delivery. - Develop system engineering plans, definitions, requirements, and architectures
- Oversee technical requirements management using tools such as DOORS and ComplyPro
- Develop and deliver systems engineering processes to support customer requirements
- Evaluate interrelationships between system requirements and design/development constraints
- Create scopes of work and work packages with clients; serve as senior technical resource
- Provide specialized technical input to studies and design in your area of expertise
- Develop study and design procedures to ensure high-quality, cost-effective work by others
- Collaborate in multi-disciplinary reviews of project deliverables; contribute to cost estimates and technical effort estimates
- Perform quality control of design calculations or drawings; prepare technical specification sections
- Contribute to engineering budgets and schedules to meet project requirements
- Engineering degree or equivalent
- Chartered Engineer
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience in railway systems safety and assurance including system safety and interoperability
- Knowledge of UK Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations
