Overview

In this Senior Training Systems Engineer role, you’ll help shape the UK’s defence training by delivering complex, bespoke training systems for the Army. You’ll work in a cross-functional, multi-partner environment to define requirements, design architectures, and integrate solutions that enable effective collective training. The role emphasizes interoperability, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement within a mission-driven organisation. Responsibilities
  • Define work packages and technical requirements across multiple services to meet specs
  • Write requirements and design documents; maintain records and lead audits
  • Act as technical liaison with supply chain partners to ensure clear specs and integration
  • Contribute to execution of key work packages and lead systems engineering activities
  • Review and deliver advanced training environments and concepts with the OMNIA team
  • Support maintenance, installation, and problem resolution; improve system operation
  • Promote EHS compliance and continuous improvement across the programme
  • Perform other duties to meet programme needs
Key requirements
  • Systems Engineering experience in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Knowledge of ISO 15288 and Systems Engineering V-model lifecycles
  • Experience writing system requirements and ICDs; strong documentation
  • Proficiency with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence)
  • Engineering degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Ability to translate requirements into practical architectures and implementation plans
  • Experience with structured delivery environments (Agile or SAFe)
  • Experience with cloud hosting (AWS or Azure)
  • UK Security Clearance (SC) or eligibility
