Overview

In this role you will drive the architecture, requirements, integration and verification of complex communications systems for the space sector. You will work across multidisciplinary teams to own subsystems from development through qualification and operation. The position blends hands-on testing with modeling, documentation and technical investigations to ensure robust system performance. You will have opportunities to lead subsystem developments and influence engineering decisions in a challenging, space-focused environment.

Responsibilities
  • Own allocated systems or subsystems, including specification and verification activities
  • Define system and subsystem requirements and develop architectures, designs and models
  • Plan and execute verification, qualification and operational demonstrations, including interoperability
  • Support system integration, deployment and operation with hands-on testing and troubleshooting
  • Identify technical risks, analyse system behaviour and evaluate options
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including interfaces, procedures, models and budgets
  • Coordinate subsystem developments and external partners or suppliers
  • Contribute to systems engineering processes including MBSE and related tools
  • May lead significant subsystem developments and guide less experienced engineers
Key requirements
  • Experience in systems engineering of complex communications, electro-optical, electromechanical or embedded software systems
  • Requirements definition, system architecture and integration
  • Verification and validation across the engineering lifecycle
  • Practical system testing, troubleshooting and data analysis
  • Exposure to MBSE, SysML or similar modelling approaches
  • Producing system documentation and interface definitions
  • Collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines and external partners
  • Bachelor or Master degree in relevant engineering with at least five years of experience (implied)
