Senior Systems Engineer

In this role you will shape engineering excellence across Naval Nuclear programmes, delivering transversal engineering solutions that support the Royal Navy’s operational capability. You’ll lead cross‑discipline projects within the Whole Boat & Platform Systems Engineering team, driving performance, process improvements, and effective delivery. You will manage investigations, reports, and cost-aware project planning while liaising with customers and stakeholders. This is a nationally important, technically demanding role in a hybrid, multi-site environment with security requirements.

• Lead transversal engineering projects and deliver technical solutions to complex problems
• Implement engineering processes, governance and capability plans
• Undertake engineering investigations with clear reports and recommendations
• Carry out project management activities including planning, delivery and cost control
• Liaise with customers and stakeholders to present solutions, progress and outcomes

• Understanding and delivery of system technical requirements
• Experience driving innovation and improving engineering effectiveness and efficiency
• Proven project management in fast-moving environments, delivering on time, on budget and to quality
• Familiarity with commercial and subcontract processes
