Senior Systems Engineer

In this role you will drive the translation of concepts into traceable system requirements using MBSE, owning vehicle architecture and interface definitions. You will lead system-level trade studies and manage budgets across mass, power, cost and reliability within a multi-year development programme. You’ll integrate multiple disciplines to form a coherent system and define verification strategies, working closely with leadership, suppliers and customers. This is a highly autonomous, senior position within a small engineering team shaping an advanced flight vehicle. You will have tangible impact on strategy, technical direction and delivery in defence-focused aerospace.

• Translate concept of operations into structured, traceable system requirements via MBSE
• Own vehicle architecture, system definition and subsystem interfaces
• Lead system-level trade studies balancing performance, mass, cost, reliability and schedule
• Maintain system budgets for mass, power, cost and reliability throughout the design cycle
• Define verification and validation strategy with evidence, stage and method
• Integrate aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, GNC, avionics and other disciplines into a coherent system
• Manage technical interfaces with bought-in subsystems and suppliers (propulsion, seekers, actuation)
• Support demonstrator definition, flight testing, range trials, test facilities and customer/partner engagement

• Degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related discipline
• Significant systems engineering experience on complex air vehicles, guided weapon systems, missiles, UAVs or similar safety-critical products
• Strong MBSE, requirements management, architecture development and traceability
• Ownership of whole-product requirements, system architecture and interface definition
• Experience leading system-level trade studies and managing technical budgets
• Working knowledge across at least two areas: e.g., aerodynamics and performance, propulsion integration, GNC, structures or avionics
• Experience taking a product from concept through hardware development and testing
