Senior Systems Engineer (Azure)

In this role you drive Azure-based infrastructure modernization as part of the university's digital transformation. You will work within IT to design, implement and support secure, high-quality IT services, collaborating with internal teams and external partners. You’ll lead technical delivery, ensure smooth go-live and knowledge transfer, and influence procurement through technical evaluation. • Act as Azure Infrastructure SME and lead design, development and implementation with internal teams and external partners
• Provide technical consultancy and third-line support for IT systems and services
• Coordinate testing, documentation and knowledge transfer at go-live and through Technical Change Request processes
• Support procurement/tender activities by contributing technical requirements and evaluating bids
• Manage incidents, problems and service requests, documenting workarounds and resolutions
• Contribute to the university's digital transformation goals and broader IT strategy

• Azure infrastructure expertise (including Application Gateways WAF, Firewall, App Service Plans, Azure Virtual Desktop, Virtual Machines)
• Ability to lead design, development and implementation of IT infrastructure
• Experience with testing, documentation, and knowledge transfer for operations
• Experience with incident/problem/service request management
• Ability to liaise with internal teams, external suppliers and procurement during tender processes
