Senior Systems Engineer (Linux & Public Cloud Specialist)

Overview

In this role, you design, build and maintain the private cloud infrastructure that underpins TMX’s IT services. You work within IT & InfoSec alongside Infrastructure, Networking, and Service Delivery teams to ensure reliable, scalable infrastructure for internal users and clients. You drive automation and IaC to improve availability and efficiency, tackling outages, upgrades and project work. This is an opportunity to shape the infrastructure roadmap and contribute to a collaborative, growth-oriented tech culture.

Responsibilities
  • Research and select optimal infrastructure options for the team and business
  • Design architectures for required infrastructure solutions
  • Manage deployment, maintenance and upgrade paths of infrastructure
  • Identify, deploy and maintain connectivity options
  • Maintain and test Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans
  • Contribute to service quality for internal users and clients
  • Support the team during critical incidents
  • Contribute to roadmap and evolution of infrastructure to meet current and future needs
  • Improve infrastructure efficiency and availability through iterative changes
  • Support internal projects, BAU workstreams, and internal users
  • Administer private cloud technology stack
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Networking, and Service Delivery teams
Key requirements
  • Enterprise Linux management experience (Red Hat-based) in a corporate environment
  • Strong Infrastructure-as-Code tooling experience (Ansible, Terraform)
  • Experience deploying/managing DevOps tools (K8s Helmcharts, Vault, ArgoCD, Istio, AKS, EKS, ECS)
  • Linux & Windows OS in Active Directory environment
  • Excellent scripting skills (Bash, Python)
  • Cloud platform experience with Azure and AWS
  • VDI infrastructure experience desirable
  • Experience with postfix design/deployment
  • Familiarity with VMware vCenter, MS SQL AlwaysOn, PowerShell, Zabbix (as stated)
  • Teamwork and collaboration

  • Time management and prioritization under pressure
  • Enterprise Linux (Red Hat), Satellite, IDM, AAP
  • Infrastructure-as-Code: Ansible, Terraform
