Overview

You will lead the technical function at the Dungannon site to ensure product safety, quality, legality and compliance while driving continuous improvement. You’ll shape the technical strategy, develop a strong quality culture, and support audits with customers and regulators. This is a key leadership role in a growing, innovative manufacturing business where your work directly impacts product integrity and regulatory compliance. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, compliant, high-quality pet food products at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Technical Team
  • Maintain the Quality Management System and audit programme to meet BRCGS and retailer requirements
  • Develop and maintain HACCP plans in line with standards
  • Advance the technical strategy and continuous improvement programme
  • Cultivate a strong quality culture across the business
  • Support customer audits and technical queries
  • Liaise with DAERA for statutory compliance
  • Report to management on product safety, legality, quality and process controls
  • Ensure critical product safety and quality controls are effectively maintained
  • Manage corrective actions for deviations
  • Train and supervise process operatives on quality systems
  • Maintain knowledge of UK/EU legislation relating to pet food safety and labeling
  • Support export and import certification requirements
  • Implement new systems to support continuous improvement
Key requirements
  • Degree in Food Technology, Food Science or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years' management experience in technical/quality or food manufacturing
  • Proven experience managing and maintaining BRCGS accreditation
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and auditing frameworks
  • HACCP Level 4 qualification
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and business systems
  • Experience managing audits and regulatory authority interactions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Proven leadership and people management capability
  • Highly organized with ability to manage competing priorities
  • Self-motivated with initiative and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
  • Flexibility to work additional hours when required
