Overview
In this Senior Technical Manager role, you act as the formal technical authority for the UK&I Applied business, overseeing sign-off on complex HVAC solutions and governance across Sales, Pre-Sales, and Delivery. You’ll lead Product Managers and Technical Specialists to raise standards and capability, strengthening technical governance and the robustness of HVAC offerings. You’ll engage with customers on strategic opportunities and shape long-term technical capability within Carrier. This is a hands-on leadership role with impact across the full project lifecycle.

- Lead structured design review and governance processes
- Validate system selection, performance assumptions, and application suitability
- Identify and mitigate technical risk in bids and projects
- Provide targeted customer engagement on strategic or high-risk opportunities
- Lead and develop Product Managers and Technical Specialists
- Develop and deliver structured technical training programmes in partnership with factory teams and Product Managers
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong HVAC background across: Chillers and heat pumps; Hydronic systems; Air handling systems (AHUs, RTUs, FCUs); HVAC controls
- Experience in technical governance, design review, or senior engineering roles
- Experience leading or developing technical teams
- Strong ability to influence within a matrix organisation
- Excellent communication skills
- IT Literate with MS Office skills
