Senior Technical Product Manager - API Experience & Security

Overview

As Senior Product Manager for API Tooling, you own the roadmap and execution for API access, security and webhook tooling within Wise Platform. You’ll partner across Security, Account Access and Wise Platform teams to design secure-by-default, scalable API solutions for enterprise partners. Your focus is reducing partner-impacting incidents, improving observability, and enabling self-serve troubleshooting for production integrations. This role combines security, reliability and developer experience to accelerate reliable, secure platform adoption.

Responsibilities
  • Own the Wise Platform partner API access, webhook service and WP API security offering, enabling secure connections and easy troubleshooting for developers
  • Design credential management, authentication strategies, and secure connection protocols with balance between security and developer experience
  • Build and improve webhook reliability, observability, and usability
  • Deliver API and webhook logs and diagnostics tooling to aid investigation and recovery
  • Ensure the auth and security infrastructure is robust and scalable for long-term demand
  • Define and execute a roadmap focused on secure access, reliability and production excellence
  • Collaborate with engineering to ship improvements that reduce incidents, support load and MTTR
  • Align internal teams on ownership and incident prevention processes
  • Engage with partner developers to understand production pain and prioritize high-impact improvements
  • Define success metrics around reliability and operability and monitor incident-driven improvements
  • Deliver measurable reductions in partner-impacting incidents and stronger security posture
Key requirements
  • 6+ years of product management experience, ideally with APIs, platform products, security, identity, auth or infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of authentication and access patterns (e.g., OAuth2, API keys, JOSE, mTLS), identity/access lifecycle, and reliability concepts
  • Comfortable discussing architecture, threat/risk trade-offs, and reliability/observability with engineers
  • Empathy for partner developers and operators; translate production pain into priorities
  • Analytical and data-driven approach with ability to set and measure goals
  • Execution-focused with a track record of shipping platform improvements in cross-functional settings
  • Strong communication and collaboration to align technical and non-technical stakeholders
