Senior Technical Systems Analyst

In this role, you translate architectural designs into detailed, build-ready specifications to enable scalable technology delivery within Very’s Architecture team. You’ll produce and maintain functional specs and interface contracts, map data, and define transformation and validation rules, ensuring traceability across requirements and designs. You’ll collaborate with Architects, Product Owners and engineering teams to resolve design ambiguities and align with enterprise standards. • Translate solution architecture into detailed, implementable technical specifications
• Create and maintain functional specifications, process/workload documentation and interface contracts
• Define data mappings, transformation logic, validation rules and error-handling behaviours
• Support delivery teams with clear, accurate and testable requirements throughout the SDLC
• Conduct impact assessments across systems, interfaces and data models
• Ensure traceability across requirements, processes, specifications and technical designs
• Collaborate with Architects to resolve design ambiguities and ensure alignment to enterprise standards
• Work with Engineering and QA teams to ensure solutions are implementable, testable and robust
• Contribute to logical data modelling, data governance requirements and GDPR/PII considerations
• Identify opportunities to improve specification standards, templates and delivery practices across the Architecture community

• Significant experience within Technical Systems Analysis, Systems Design or a similar role
• Proven track record of producing high-quality functional specifications, interface contracts and data mapping documentation
• Strong knowledge of systems analysis methodologies and SDLC practices
• Experience working within complex, multi-system environments
• Understanding of modern integration approaches (APIs, events, file-based interfaces)
• Experience defining data transformation rules, validation logic and exception handling processes
• Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
• Experience conducting impact assessments and managing requirements traceability
