Senior Test Engineer

In this role you ensure a trustworthy customer experience by leading testing across UI, API, back-office workflows, and third-party integrations. You combine manual testing with automation to drive resilient, high-quality software used by a broad customer base. You will coach other testers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help shape quality practices as products evolve. • Test across UI, API, back-office workflows, third-party systems and end-to-end scenarios
• Interpret business, functional and technical requirements
• Understand AJ Bell products and relevant Financial Services legislation
• Influence solution delivery to improve customer outcomes
• Execute and document test results using JIRA and Xray
• Raise defects with detailed investigations
• Support User Acceptance Testing and production releases
• Apply Agile practices in delivery
• Collaborate with Technical Leads and other testers to design automation approaches
• Balance automation and manual testing for coverage and confidence
• Perform exploratory testing within Agile environment
• Develop and extend test tools, frameworks and environments
• Support research and proof-of-concept activities
• Coach and support testers, provide feedback, delegate tasks
• Balance workflow with Team Lead and communicate risks
• Contribute to a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility
• Identify opportunities to improve testing approaches, automation, tooling and environments
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to solve problems early

• Senior Tester experience with delegation and being a first point of contact for other testers
• Full understanding of the testing lifecycle and methodologies
• Create and design automated test scripts using BDD
• Maintain and enhance automation frameworks
• Exploratory testing in Agile
• Develop test tools and extend frameworks and environments
• Proven experience testing APIs using integration tools
• Knowledge of Cypress, Gherkin, Page Object Model, PactumJS and TypeScript
• Strong understanding of testing processes and systems under test
• Automation-first approach to testing
• Experience with JIRA and Xray
