Overview

In this Senior Test Engineer role, you will help ensure software quality across Raytheon UK's cyber and defence projects. You will work within an agile, cross-functional team to implement automated testing and robust test plans, shaping delivery for mission-critical systems. You’ll apply test methodologies across Linux/Windows environments, contributing to continuous integration and effective risk assessment. This opportunity combines hands-on testing with shaping testing strategy in a high-impact, security-focused context.

Responsibilities
  • Apply testing expertise within an Agile software delivery team
  • Create and maintain automated test frameworks
  • Define and manage test environments, data, and tools
  • Support estimation and planning of test activities
  • Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues and raise defects
  • Produce test and deployment strategies and plans in line with customer guidelines
  • Contribute to test documentation and test scripts (manual and automated)
  • Ensure alignment of testing with lifecycle processes and customer requirements
Key requirements
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum/DevOps delivery model
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools
  • Experience with scripting languages for automation
  • Experience producing test plans and reports
  • Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and related test methodologies/tools
  • Hold eDV clearance (required)
  • Desirable: AWS and/or Azure
  • Desirable: Continuous Integration
  • Desirable: deploying and configuring complex software under Linux/Windows
  • Desirable: monitoring, logging, performance testing techniques
  • Test automation frameworks and tools
  • Scripting languages for automation
  • Test plan and report creation
  • Systems engineering lifecycle knowledge
