Overview

As a Senior Test Engineer, you will lead and mentor engineers to deliver on-time test results for critical release systems. You will shape test plans and hardware/fixture development to validate components for airworthiness certification. You’ll work across design reviews and test programs, driving analysis and improvements in test facilities. This role sits in the Release Systems & Antennas division of L3Harris UK, contributing to mission-critical platforms across aerospace domains.

Responsibilities
  • Create Type Approval Test Plans aligned to customer specs and standards
  • Develop Qualification Test Procedures and generate Qualification Test Reports for Airworthiness Certification
  • Lead and participate in Internal and Customer Design reviews throughout the Development Life Cycle
  • Analyze test results and support trade studies and interface control document verification
  • Design, develop and implement hardware and software system-level test programs
  • Create and maintain cost-effective test procedures for testing and troubleshooting subassemblies and systems
  • Enhance test facilities and capabilities to support accelerated testing
  • Oversee test data integrity and ensure first article production integration readiness

Key requirements
  • Hons degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years in related industry
  • Experience in test system design and fixture development
  • Proficiency with LabVIEW and DAQ systems
  • Experience with environmental and electro-mechanical testing
  • Knowledge of sensors e.g., accelerometers, load cells, pressure transducers, LVDT
  • Experience with high pressure pneumatics and high-speed cameras
  • Familiarity with CAD (Solidworks) and data analysis tools
  • Ability to guide and mentor less experienced engineers
