Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist technical consultancy and design services for traffic control engineering projects for internal and external clients
  • Produce design packages including design drawings, reports, ITS1827 forms, MOVA data sets and works specifications for junctions and crossings
  • Contribute to RAMS, hazard logs and technical assurance evidence
  • Provide implementation support through FAT, SAT and MOVA / Bus priority / SCOOT Validation
  • Prepare and respond to technical queries, departures, and assurance/approval gate reviews
  • Coordinate with highways, structures, drainage, geotechnical, environment and traffic teams to integrate technology with civil and electrical works
  • Attend meetings and engage with clients across the UK
  • Provide support and mentoring to junior team members
  • Ensure compliance with UK standards and guidance (DMRB, TSM, TSRGD), CDM 2015 and Safe by Design principles
  • Support programme, cost, and risk management; contribute to bids, estimates and technical proposals
  • Check that deliverables meet client briefs and AECOM quality procedures
Key requirements
  • BEng or equivalent in Electrical, Electronics, or Civil Engineering
  • Knowledge of latest traffic control engineering design standards, implementation support processes and traffic signal technology applications
  • Proficiency in producing technically assured deliverables (AutoCAD, Civils3D), equipment schedules, ITS1827 forms, and MOVA designs incl MOVA data sets and design reports
  • NHSS8 / HERS registered
  • Experience in traffic control engineering design and implementation support, especially MOVA control
  • Design skills in MOVA and SCOOT for junction and corridor operations
