Overview

In this role you will deliver specialist traffic control engineering services for diverse clients across the UK and beyond. You will lead technical design, review, and implementation support, collaborating with cross-functional teams and clients to drive safe, compliant traffic systems. Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist technical consultancy and design services for traffic control projects for internal and external clients
  • Produce design packages including layout drawings, reports, ITS1827 forms, MOVA datasets and works specifications for junctions and crossings
  • Contribute to RAMS, hazard logs, and technical assurance evidence
  • Provide implementation support (FAT, SAT, MOVA / Bus priority / SCOOT Validation)
  • Prepare and respond to technical queries, departures, and assurance/approval gate reviews
  • Coordinate with highways, structures, drainage, geotechnical, environment and traffic teams to integrate technology with civil/electrical works
  • Attend meetings and engage with clients across the UK
  • Provide support and mentoring to junior team members
  • Ensure compliance with UK standards (DMRB, TSM, TSRGD), CDM2015 and Safe by Design
  • Support programme, cost and risk management; contribute to bids and technical proposals
  • Check quality of deliverables against brief and procedures
Key requirements
  • BEng or equivalent in Electrical, Electronics, or Civil Engineering
  • Knowledge of latest traffic control design standards, implementation processes and traffic signal technology
  • Proficiency in producing deliverables (AutoCAD, Civils3D), equipment schedules, ITS1827 forms, MOVA designs and datasets
  • NHSS8 / HERS registered
  • Experience in traffic control engineering design and MOVA implementation support
  • Design skills in MOVA and SCOOT at junction and corridor level
  • Collaborative cross-functional work
