Overview

Senior Traffic Control Engineer at AECOM leads specialist traffic control projects for a diverse UK and international client base. You will deliver design packages, support RAMS and technical assurance, and guide implementation with validation activities across junctions and corridors. You’ll work within Technology Services, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate technology with civil and electrical works. Responsibilities
  • Deliver specialist technical consultancy and design services for traffic control projects
  • Produce design packages including layout drawings, reports, ITS1827 forms, MOVA data sets and works specifications
  • Contribute to RAMS, hazard logs and technical assurance
  • Provide implementation support (FAT, SAT, MOVA validation)
  • Prepare responses to technical queries and assurance gate reviews
  • Collaborate with highways, structures, drainage, geotechnical, environment and traffic teams
  • Attend client meetings across the UK
  • Provide mentoring to junior team members
  • Ensure compliance with UK standards and guidance (DMRB, TSM, TSRGD) and CDM 2015
  • Support programme, cost and risk management; contribute to bids and proposals
  • Quality-check technical deliverables against client brief and AECOM procedures
Key requirements
  • BEng or equivalent in Electrical, Electronics, or Civil Engineering
  • Knowledge of latest traffic control design standards, implementation and traffic signal technology applications
  • Proficiency in producing deliverables with AutoCAD, Civils3D, equipment schedules, ITS1827 forms, MOVA designs and data sets
  • NHSS8 / HERS registered
  • Experience in traffic control engineering design and MOVA implementation
  • Design skills in MOVA and SCOOT at junction and corridor level
