Senior Virtualization Engineer

In this role, you will guide the design and implementation of an OpenStack-based virtualization platform to support DRW’s trading desks and data teams. You’ll set engineering standards, automate workflows, and ensure scalable, cost-efficient infrastructure. You work across teams to diagnose and resolve complex OpenStack, compute, storage, and networking issues while delivering excellent platform support. You will lead by example, mentoring engineers and driving operational excellence in a high-intensity trading environment.

• Own and improve DRW’s Virtualization platform infrastructure, processes, and standards
• Relentlessly automate repetitive manual tasks
• Design, implement, and manage OpenStack clouds (deployment, config, maintenance)
• Diagnose and resolve complex multi-team OpenStack issues (compute/storage/networking)
• Provide exceptional customer service to platform users
• Coach engineers on best practices and set high standards for operational/technical excellence
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents during on-call rotations

• Expert OpenStack administration
• Strong networking, storage, Linux, and virtualization fundamentals
• Proficiency with IAC tooling (Terraform, Ansible)
• Scripting/coding experience (Python, Golang, Bash)
