As Principal Digital Experience Engineer, you own the strategic direction of our marketing website, setting the technical standard and driving growth. You will shape platform architecture, tooling, and standards to maximise marketing impact and revenue, collaborating with senior leaders and external partners. You’ll balance hands-on coding with high‑level decisions, delivering scalable, high‑performing experiences that enable rapid experimentation and content personalization. Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end technical strategy for the marketing website, including platform, stack, infrastructure, and architecture decisions at the organisational level
  • Design and oversee website builds from strategy through launch, setting requirements and engineering standards to meet performance, accessibility, and brand goals
  • Define the foundation for conversion optimization and experimentation, enabling growth teams to move fast via A/B testing and personalization
  • Maintain site performance, Core Web Vitals, uptime, and technical SEO health with documented methodologies
  • Shape the website data layer through event architecture and tracking standards aligned with the BI strategy
  • Lead content infrastructure strategy in Sanity, designing models, reusable blocks, and COPE pipelines
  • Develop the AI strategy for the website, evaluating and prototyping AI-driven personalization and intelligent features
  • Manage external partners, briefing agencies, reviewing outputs, and advising build-vs-buy decisions
  • Influence senior leadership and external stakeholders on web as a growth lever with data-backed recommendations
  • Mentor colleagues on web best practices and AI tooling, and share knowledge across the organization
Key requirements
  • 12+ years of professional web development experience
  • At least 5 years in B2B SaaS at a senior or principal level
  • Deep expertise with Astro.js and Sanity (candidates from Next.js or similar TS-first frameworks considered if they can ramp on Astro)
  • Track record leading major website projects with strategic impact and accountability for outcomes
  • Experience designing experimentation and personalization infrastructure (A/B testing, dynamic content)
  • Strong understanding of technical SEO at a systems level
  • Experience with headless CMS architectures (preferably Sanity) and COPE content pipelines
  • Deep experience with web analytics and tracking layers (event architecture, GTM, data collection)
  • Experience integrating marketing automation/analytics platforms (HubSpot, Marketo, Segment, GA/GTM)
  • Experience refining engineering workflows (Git, PRs, deployment pipelines, incident management)
  • Ability to collaborate as a credible technical peer across product and platform teams
  • Practical use of AI development tools and implementing AI-driven site features with measurable outcomes
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and external stakeholders
  • Track record of developing new methodologies or standards adopted across an organization
  • Ability to communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
  • Mentoring and coaching across levels
