Overview

In this hybrid London-based role, you will design, develop, and maintain complex Java and Python services that power data-intensive systems. You will architect new solutions, mentor developers, and lead technical initiatives across multinational teams. You’ll work with product, UX, and engineering peers to deliver robust products, while ensuring reliability through automated testing and production support. Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and maintain complex Java and Python applications and services
  • Architect new systems or reuse existing ones to drive complex applications
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, UX teams, and Software Engineers globally to deliver products
  • Engage from requirements gathering through design, testing, and deployment
  • Establish and maintain automated tests for robustness, scalability, and security
  • Proactively solve production issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes or workarounds
  • Perform code reviews to meet standards and objectives
  • Deliver Level 3 production support and diagnose issues to minimize business disruption
  • Analyse incidents, identify root causes, implement preventive measures and timely fixes
Key requirements
  • 8+ years of proven experience in Core Backend Software Development
  • Excellent algorithm and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate business use cases into technical solutions
  • Able to learn quickly, be creative, results-driven, self-motivated and solutions oriented
  • Demonstrates a can-do demeanour, leads change and thinks strategically
  • Experience in CI/CD tools and automation (Jenkins/GitLab or similar DevOps tooling)
  • Experience in Performance Optimizations and JVM Profiling
  • Extensive hands-on experience in Core Java with strong data structures and algorithms
  • Strong knowledge of Relational Databases (Oracle/SQL Server/PostgreSQL)
  • Proficiency in DevOps (CI/CD)
