Service Advisor (Wealth Management)

Sentry Hill Financial Advisors, Northwestern Mutual

Boston · Massachusetts · United States

Sentry Hill Financial Advisors is a Boston-based financial planning firm and member of the Northwestern Mutual Private Client Group. We provide comprehensive financial planning, asset management, and risk management services designed to help clients protect, grow, and manage their wealth. Our team specializes in helping business professionals and small-business owners navigate complex financial decisions through personalized guidance and long-term relationships.

The Opportunity

The Service Advisor is a client relationship and service-focused role supporting an established client base. The focus is on delivering a high-quality experience to existing clients, maintaining strong relationships, conducting ongoing reviews, and ensuring client needs are followed through from meeting to completion.

The Service Advisor will serve as the day-to-day advisor for an assigned group of clients while also partnering with senior advisors on additional relationships. Over time, the Service Advisor will take the lead on more of the relationships they help support.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with clients and wants to deepen their advisory experience without the expectation of developing their own pipeline or prospecting for new business.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the day-to-day advisor for an assigned group of existing client relationships.
  • Independently conduct investment and insurance review meetings.
  • Participate alongside senior advisors in client meetings and help ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Own meeting notes, debriefs, CRM updates, and follow-up items.
  • Coordinate closely with operations staff to ensure client requests, service needs, and action items are communicated and completed.
  • Schedule follow-up meetings and maintain appropriate ongoing client contact.
  • Assist newer clients with online access, account questions, and other follow-up needs.
  • Meet with next-generation family members and help develop relationships across generations.
  • Prepare client and meeting information to help senior advisors effectively manage relationships.
  • Continue developing expertise in the Sentry Hill approach, financial planning, investments, insurance, and firm processes.
  • Gradually assume primary responsibility for additional existing client relationships as experience and familiarity with the client base grow.

The Service Advisor will independently manage a portfolio of client households, including investment and insurance relationships, while also supporting senior advisors in additional client meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Northwestern Mutual product or industry experience.
  • Strong relationship-management and client-service skills.
  • Ability to confidently lead client conversations and review meetings.
  • Working knowledge of investment and insurance products and services.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through on client needs and commitments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with advisors and operations staff.
  • Experience working with affluent clients.
  • Series 7 and Series 63 registrations.
  • Massachusetts Life, Accident & Health licenses.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Series 65 or Series 66.
  • CFP or ChFC designation, or progress toward earning one.
  • Experience servicing an existing book of wealth management or insurance relationships.
  • Experience working within a team-based financial planning or advisory environment.

Who Thrives Here

We're looking for someone who:

  • Takes initiative and can work through challenges independently.
  • Is coachable and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Is motivated by results, professional growth, and earning potential.
  • Is resilient and comfortable with the persistence required to develop new business.
  • Effectively prioritizes activities that create value for clients and drive growth.
  • Works well within a team and communicates openly, honestly, and respectfully.
  • Is willing to go beyond the basic requirements of the role when clients or teammates need support.

Base Salary Range : $110,000-120,000 (Full-Time)

Benefits include:

  • Health, dental, and vision.
  • Unlimited PTO.
  • Firm-paid group life, short-term disability, and long-term disability coverage.
  • 401(k) with an employer match.
  • Paid exam costs, along with license and professional-designation bonuses.

Why Sentry Hill?

This is an opportunity for an experienced financial services professional who enjoys serving clients and building trusted, long-term relationships.

As a Service Advisor, you’ll manage existing relationships, conduct client reviews, work alongside experienced senior advisors, and progressively take greater ownership of established client relationships.

For someone who wants to continue developing as an advisor while focusing on client relationships, planning, service, and execution rather than sales and lead generation, this role offers a clear path to increased responsibility within the firm.

If you’re an experienced financial professional who enjoys helping clients, building long-term relationships, and making sure the details get done right, we’d like to hear from you.
