As a Service Designer you will shape end-to-end services for clients across public and private sectors, applying user-centered design, data and creativity to solve complex challenges. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team in a collaborative digital and innovation practice, guiding services from discovery through delivery and continuous improvement. You’ll champion accessibility and present insights with clear storytelling. This role offers the chance to influence transformation programmes and build impactful, scalable service solutions.
Responsibilities- Support clients through the full service design process from ideation to testing
- Create artefacts such as user journeys, personas, service blueprints, service maps and proofs of concepts
- Apply service design standards across public and private sector projects
- Identify and address accessibility and inclusion considerations
- Collaborate in agile, multidisciplinary teams
- Take ownership of service design deliverables alongside other design disciplines
- Present insights and design outputs using visual communication
- Facilitate workshops, ideation sessions and collaborative design activities
- Identify and manage risks and escalate as needed
- Promote user-centred design among stakeholders and project teams
- Maintain a curious mindset understanding user needs and challenging assumptions
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in service design and product design
- Experience across full service design lifecycle with minimal supervision
- Experience with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards or comparable design frameworks
- Proficiency in producing service design artefacts (current/future-state journeys, personas, service concepts, blueprints)
- Experience identifying accessibility barriers for complex user groups
- Experience facilitating workshops, design sprints or ideation sessions
- Ability to visualise complex services accessibly for diverse audiences
- Strong storytelling skills in fast-paced environments
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams with various roles
- Ability to manage competing priorities within challenging timeframes
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
