ServiceNow Developer (App Engine Studio)

Our client is seeking a contract based ServiceNow Developer to support the design, development, and delivery of ServiceNow applications and platform solutions. This is a hands-on consulting role focused on App Engine Studio (AES), low-code application development, workflow automation, secure application design, and rapid prototyping .


Location: Remote

Duration: 6 months to start


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, configure, and enhance applications using ServiceNow App Engine Studio (AES) .
  • Configure ServiceNow tables, forms, ACLs, RBAC, workflows, and Flow Designer .
  • Build low-code applications and automated workflows while minimizing unnecessary custom scripting.
  • Develop solutions and workflows that securely handle sensitive or protected information .
  • Develop advanced functionality using JavaScript , applying sound development and unit-testing practices.
  • Develop, test, demonstrate, and deliver solution features through Agile sprints.
  • Create rapid prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions to validate requirements and technical approaches.
  • Configure and maintain CI/CD processes supporting reliable ServiceNow deployments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application defects and technical issues.
  • Produce clear technical documentation for implemented solutions.
  • Collaborate with architects, technical leads, business stakeholders, and other delivery team members to ensure solutions align with established architecture and development standards.


Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of ServiceNow development experience .
  • Advanced hands-on experience with ServiceNow App Engine Studio (AES) and building custom applications.
  • Strong ServiceNow platform experience, including tables, forms, ACLs, RBAC, and Flow Designer .
  • Demonstrated experience with low-code application development on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Experience implementing forms, applications, or workflows involving sensitive or protected information .
  • Strong JavaScript development skills with an understanding of unit testing and maintainable development practices.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery teams , including sprint-based development and rapid prototyping.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies, business processes, and platform capabilities.


Assets

  • Experience with ServiceNow Studio and advanced scripting.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or App Engine Specialist certification.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Vault .
  • Experience with Integration Hub, Performance Analytics, and UI Builder .
  • Experience implementing or supporting Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines .
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French .
  • Located in the National Capital Region (NCR) and available to work in a hybrid environment.
