As a Site Engineer II in a data centre, you will operate, maintain, test, and monitor critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure to ensure reliability and uptime. You work within a mission-critical operations team to meet SLAs, uphold safety standards, and drive site performance improvements. You will troubleshoot faults, coordinate specialist subcontractors, and contribute to documentation and procedures. - Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on critical electrical and mechanical systems
- Monitor and maintain site infrastructure to maximise reliability and uptime
- Diagnose faults and troubleshoot equipment failures
- Coordinate specialist subcontractors and maintenance activities
- Support incident response and participate in on-call duties
- Produce maintenance reports, documentation, and operational records
- Write and review standard operating procedures and maintenance documentation
- Assist with planning and execution of critical maintenance activities and change requests
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support
- Ensure all activities comply with health, safety, and industry regulations
- Experience in data centre, critical environment, or mission-critical facility
- Experience maintaining critical electrical and/or mechanical infrastructure
- Technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Building Services, or related discipline
- Knowledge of mission-critical operations and maintenance procedures
- Experience with HV/LV Power Distribution Systems, Switchgear, Transformers, UPS, Standby Generators, Chillers, CRAC/CRAH, Cooling Towers, Pumps and Pipework, Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Experience carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Good IT literacy, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in a 24/7 shift environment
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach
- Desirable: Authorised Person (AP) or HV/LV experience, data centre or critical facilities experience
