Overview
In this role you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of Kubernetes-based microservices configurations, enabling scalable deployment across dev, staging, and production. You will work within the Webex Engineering group to advance a secure, observable, and self-service platform that accelerates configuration delivery. You’ll apply AI-assisted tooling to optimize delivery speed and reduce risk while shaping governance and disaster-recovery practices. This is a hands-on, impact-led position in a hybrid, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Design, codify, test, and deliver Kubernetes-based microservices configurations (Deployments, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps) using Kubernetes, Helm
- Build reusable base configs with environment overlays and promote safely across environments
- Drive GitOps workflows with Argo CD and implement progressive delivery (canary releases, validation gates)
- Manage secrets securely with HashiCorp Vault and Kubernetes Secrets
- Use AI-assisted tools to optimize configuration-as-code and accelerate delivery
- Address configuration, policy, observability, and data service challenges with a data-driven approach (Prometheus, Grafana)
- Own end-to-end configuration quality, governance with Open Policy Agent, and reproducibility including backup/restore and disaster recovery
- Develop a self-service platform using Backstage and Argo CD to enable declarative deployments and standard processes
- Bachelor's or higher in an analytical subject
- 4+ years of software development experience
- Strong Kubernetes and microservices experience
