Overview
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will deploy, manage and improve a cloud-based set of internal tools and externally managed services. You’ll work across IT, product and engineering to ensure reliability, performance and security. You’ll proactively identify weaknesses, implement monitoring, and drive automation to prevent production issues. This role offers impact across two core platforms (mobile and web) and opportunities to shape CI/CD, incident response, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Keep internal apps and services up and running, restoring quickly after failures
- Serve as the technical point of operational responsibility for two core platforms (mobile and web)
- Collaborate with internal partners and external vendors to meet code quality, security and performance requirements
- Write and maintain runbooks and/or playbooks
- Automate or build new internal workflows, including infrastructure, testing, and failover
- Debug complex problems across web and mobile stacks and advise on solutions
- Advance CI/CD processes to improve release cadence and developer experience
- Lead critical issue post-mortem processes and coordinate follow-up actions
- 7+ years in software engineering, software development, or system operations
- Experience debugging complex problems and delivering timely solutions
- Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale production systems
- Deep knowledge of Python (preferred) with openness to Java, Go, Rust
- Experience with source control (Git, GitHub) and feature branching
- Experience with open-source databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, etc.)
- Experience with DevOps, container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with log monitoring/observability (Sumo Logic, CloudWatch)
- Experience with infrastructure as code and automation; CircleCI familiarity if possible
- Experience with AWS; Azure/Google knowledge is a plus
- Strong web/mobile development familiarity (JavaScript/TypeScript and Python)
- Cross-functional collaboration with engineers, UX/product designers, and external stakeholders
- Ability to assess scope, risk, quality and timelines with a focus on security and performance
