Overview

In this role you will lead a team building an observability capability for cloud-native microservices within the International Consumer Bank. You will influence the technical roadmap, architecture, and tooling to deliver end-to-end telemetry across the software delivery lifecycle, improving developer experience. You will work with product, platform, and development teams in a collaborative, fintech-focused environment that values inclusion and cross-functional impact. Responsibilities
  • Influence platform strategy, technical roadmap, and reference architectures for cloud-native services across multi-region environments
  • Lead engineers with clear direction, architecture review, and mentoring
  • Collaborate with dev teams to improve developer experience through scalable tooling and multi-regional support
  • Drive instrumentation standards, labeling, and metric cardinality across diverse technologies
  • Ensure security compliance via governance controls for data redaction, encryption, and auditing
  • Deliver end-to-end software solutions through design, development, and troubleshooting
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts ensuring constraints are met
  • Analyze large data sets to generate visualizations and continuous improvement insights in software systems
  • Identify hidden problems in data and use findings to improve coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Leverage enterprise AI coding assist tools to enhance code quality, speed, and productivity with peer validation and secure practices
  • Apply lifecycle toolchain knowledge to boost automation value with AI-assisted development
Key requirements
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience
  • Experience leading engineering teams with technical direction and mentoring
  • Hands-on design, development, testing, and operational stability in large-scale systems
  • Proficiency in Python or similar languages and SQL for data queries
  • Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of resiliency, security principles, and emerging AI practices
  • Experience with public cloud services (e.g., AWS) and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools and evaluating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
