Software Architect

In this role you own the full architecture of complex, safety-critical software systems, guiding structure, interfaces, and long-term viability. You collaborate with delivery teams to govern design decisions and balance trade-offs for performance, safety, security, and user experience. You articulate architectural rationales, define emergent requirements, and maintain architectural integrity while shaping engineering strategy and reuse. You’ll influence technology direction and drive continuous improvement in a high-stakes product domain.

• Own and govern the full software architecture of complex, safety-critical systems
• Define and evolve architecture, interfaces, and non-functional requirements
• Document design drivers and architectural decision rationale
• Produce derived requirements and ensure implementation preserves architectural integrity
• Collaborate with architects, specialists, and engineering stakeholders on design reviews and cross-disciplinary alignment
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across software teams
• Shape software engineering strategy, product lines, reuse strategies, and adoption of new technologies
• Participate in continuous improvement and technical excellence initiatives

• Proven experience as Software Architect or senior technical design role
• Strong knowledge of modern and established architecture techniques and design patterns
• Experience with model-based engineering
• Ability to define, communicate, and defend architectural solutions at multiple levels
• Experience mentoring engineers and collaborating with software delivery teams
• Clear and accurate communication skills to influence stakeholders
• Advocacy for sound software engineering practices and CI
• Ability to assess and explain architectural trade-offs with clear design rationale
• Understanding of software abstraction layers and full software stack
• Experience defining and influencing tools, frameworks, and technologies
• Strong programming background in more than one language
