Overview

As a Software Asset Analyst, you will manage software assets, licenses, and compliance across the organization, enabling cost optimization and risk control. You’ll collaborate with sourcing, procurement, IT operations, and stakeholders to steward the software lifecycle and support audits. The role supports the SAM platform and helps keep inventories accurate while driving remediation and efficiency improvements. This position sits within the HPC Governance and Compliance function, contributing to ISMS alignment and vulnerability initiatives. You will work in a global, cross-functional environment, delivering reliable, compliant software asset management.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain software asset inventory and license records
  • Administer licenses including terms, usage rules, and product associations
  • Link purchases/subscriptions/renewals to licenses in the SAM tool
  • Support SAM platform maintenance, upgrades, interfaces, and troubleshooting
  • Collect and reconcile installation data to assess compliance
  • Coordinate inventory data with IT Operations to resolve issues
  • Monitor health of the SAM environment
  • Design reports to track compliance, liabilities, and budgets
  • Provide remediation plans for compliance risks
  • Assist with software renewals and maintenance agreements
  • Ensure payments align with contracts and minimize unnecessary fees
  • Identify shelfware and suggest reuse or cancellation opportunities
  • Drive cost savings through rationalization and licensing optimization
  • Coordinate remediation activities and communicate risks
  • Support ISMS improvement and audits
  • Maintain documentation and process records
  • Contribute to vulnerability management and IP protection initiatives
Key requirements
  • Associate degree or equivalent technical certification in Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum one year of experience in IT, SAM, procurement, or related discipline
  • Understanding of SAM principles and lifecycle processes
  • Experience with software inventory tools and asset management platforms; Flexera is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with IT environments and information security concepts
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical or procedural documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized with multi-priority management
