Overview

In this role you lead the delivery of change for AQA’s Assessment Technology software portfolio, ensuring reliability, innovation, and alignment with the mission to deliver world-class assessments. You’ll work with internal teams and suppliers to deliver on time, with high quality and continuous improvement at the core. You’ll coordinate with cross-functional teams to optimise delivery, manage risks, and steer products through agile processes. A key hook is shaping scalable, secure assessment platforms used by millions of learners.

Responsibilities
  • Lead delivery teams to develop and support strategically aligned software products, applying agile and lean practices
  • Facilitate PI planning and Scrum of Scrums to align teams and optimise workflow
  • Manage risks, escalate impediments, and drive continuous improvement across delivery processes
  • Provide progress and performance reporting against targets to senior leadership
  • Collaborate with Product Managers/Owners to align backlog and roadmap
  • Drive PI execution and manage release scope and frequency
  • Lead Scrum of Scrums to ensure cross-team alignment and value delivery
  • Ensure delivery complies with ISO9001 / ISO27001, regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Coordinate with internal and third-party delivery partners and manage 3rd party contracts
  • Oversee financial and risk management related to product resourcing and change activities
  • Contribute to incident management, business continuity, and information security practices
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to meet evolving business needs
Key requirements
  • Strong experience in software delivery within agile and scaled agile environments
  • Technical knowledge to assess and innovate across diverse software technologies
  • Ability to lead teams through complex, time-sensitive challenges
  • Experience delivering in high-stakes, regulated environments
