Overview

As an SDE II on the NextGen Security Automation team, you build AI-driven security solutions that protect millions of Amazon customers at scale. You will design scalable, real-time threat detection and automated response systems, collaborating with security engineers to strengthen guardrails and tooling. You’ll research, prototype, and integrate new security capabilities within Amazon’s security infrastructure. This role combines architecture, development, and security impact in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop AI/ML-driven security automation systems for scalable threat detection and mitigation
  • Build and maintain real-time, scalable applications for threat detection and response
  • Collaborate with security teams to improve practices, guardrails, and tooling
  • Develop automated detection systems integrated into Amazon’s security infrastructure
  • Research and prototype new security solutions and evaluate design feasibility
Key requirements
  • Professional software development experience (non-internship)
  • Experience with at least one modern language (Java, C++, or C#) and OO design
  • Minimum 6+ years building complex software delivered to customers
  • Collaborative mindset
