Overview

In this role you will design, develop and enhance high-performance trading components such as matching engines and FIX gateways. You will work within the Electronic Products team to deliver low-latency, scalable applications in Java and C++. You’ll support real-time market data and trading gateways while maintaining existing Java-based systems. You’ll collaborate with trading, product, and infrastructure teams to drive stable, efficient solutions that meet demanding financial services needs.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance matching engines, FIX gateways, and electronic trading apps
  • Build and maintain high-performance, low-latency applications using Java and C++
  • Develop client-server apps and real-time market data/trading gateways
  • Maintain and enhance existing Java and JavaScript-based applications
  • Work with FIX and other electronic trading protocols for seamless integration
  • Develop efficient in-memory data structures and processing techniques
  • Troubleshoot production issues and improve stability and scalability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (trading, product, infrastructure) to deliver robust trading solutions
  • Support full software development lifecycle for deployment and maintenance

Key requirements
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong focus on Java development
  • Working knowledge of C and C++, with familiarity in Python
  • Hands-on experience with FIX or similar electronic trading protocols
  • Proven track record in high-frequency, low-latency, or electronic trading environments
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, UDP, unicast, multicast)
  • Good knowledge of Linux (system calls, multithreading, IPC, sockets, scheduling)
  • Experience with performance-focused programming for HFT systems
  • Excellent understanding of in-memory data management and optimization techniques
  • Knowledge of NUMA architectures (advantage)
  • Experience with client-server apps and an understanding of performance, concurrency, and networking
