In this role you will build and integrate technologies for deformers, kinematics, solvers, and frameworks used in rigging, Creatures FX, crowds and animation. You will collaborate with engineers and artists to deliver a cohesive ecosystem and a best-in-class user experience. You’ll work in an Agile environment, shaping tools and pipelines that support feature animation and VFX work. This is an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge creature technology and advance production workflows at DNEG.
Responsibilities- Develop and integrate deformer, kinematics, and solver technologies for rigging and animation workflows
- Ensure cross-team interoperability to deliver a consistent artist experience
- Collaborate with peers, artists, and product owners to understand needs and deliver bespoke software
- Design, support, and maintain software within the production pipeline and integrate tools into existing systems
- Communicate effectively between technical and non-technical stakeholders to facilitate adoption
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant professional experience
- Programming in C++ and Python
- Experience in geometry processing, deformable objects or kinematics
- Experience developing plug-ins using the Maya or Houdini SDK
