Overview

As a Python-focused member of the Alpha Data team, you will shape scalable data pipelines and frameworks that deliver vast data to users worldwide. You’ll work closely with quant researchers, traders, and technologists to design resilient data processes and efficient query structures. Your work accelerates data delivery and supports alpha generation, with a culture that values learning, collaboration, and impactful solutions. This role offers ownership of data assets and opportunities to build reusable abstractions that enhance team throughput and code quality.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, test, optimize and troubleshoot data pipelines, frameworks, and services
  • Collaborate with researchers to onboard new datasets
  • Take lead on production support operations during regular business hours
  • Propose and contribute to new abstractions and improvements to scale data infrastructure
  • Develop strong working relationships with quant researchers, traders, and tech colleagues
  • Own parts of the data estate and improve data quality and usability
Key requirements
  • 4+ years of Python coding experience
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM
  • Experience with SQL and at least one RDBMS (Postgres)
  • Practical knowledge of data transfer protocols/tools (FTP, SFTP, HTTP APIs, AWS S3)
