Software Developer - Data Reliability

Overview

In this role you will uphold the performance, stability, and availability of Squarepoints data ecosystem. You will work as part of the Data team to maintain data pipelines, automate workflows, and build observability and self-serve tooling. You’ll lead incident resolution and capacity planning, driving reliability across production systems. This position offers the chance to shape operational platforms that support research and trading through scalable automation and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Automation systems: build and improve automation for operational tasks
• Infrastructure management: maintain data development infrastructure with monitoring and observability
• Reliability engineering: own deployments, support users, lead incident resolution, plan capacity and performance
• Data pipelines: build and monitor production pipelines and loadtimeseries for research and trading
• Incident management: perform root cause analysis and drive remedial actions
• Day-to-day operations: handle production deployments, config changes, and user requests
• Observability initiatives: contribute to a health monitoring platform with configurable monitors and checks
• Deployment automation: platform for scheduling, orchestrating, and validating safe production rollouts
• Self-serve automation: Jira-driven platform applying operational changes after approvals

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related subject
• 4+ years of software engineering or reliability experience
• 2+ years Python
• Linux command line proficiency
• Relational databases knowledge, PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with Git, Consul, Grafana, Kibana, and cloud platforms (Google Cloud or AWS)
• Excellent verbal and written communication for global teams
