Description ‘Employment Ontario’ is one of the major programs delivered by the Employment and Training Division of the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. Employment Ontario helps the citizens of Ontario gain the training, skills and experience to achieve their goals. The Employment Ontario Information Systems (EOIS) is the major IT system that supports the administration of these programs. Application subsystems under EOIS include CaMS (Case Management System), Service Provider lifeCycle (SPL), EO Self Service (EOSS), APPR (Apprenticeship), OJG (Ontario Job Grant), and APPR AOL (Apply OnLine). The operating Environment includes JEE, CURAM, Crystal Reports, Oracle SQL/PL SQL, Power BI, Oracle Database, Business Objects Universe and Dashboarding, WebI, Bursting technologies, and Informatica ETL.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis, design, developing, unit testing, defect fixing and other necessary tasks in a data warehousing and BI environment in Oracle PL/SQL
  • Design, develop and test Informatica mappings
  • Develop ETL scripts to transfer and transform data from OLTP database to Data Warehouse and Data marts
  • Develop and maintain BOE reports
  • Communicate your progress clearly and timely to the management team
  • Must have skills in Crystal reports, Informatica, Power BI and BOE reporting

  • Experience in programming and analysis; specialized software package support at the specified experience level
  • Ability to collaborate with IT Professionals throughout the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience in structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applications
  • Experience in design, code, test, debug and document applications
  • Experience in the use of object and/or third generation language development tools
  • Experience in one or more programming languages
  • Experience in application design, latest design patters, deployment and troubleshooting
  • Experience with relational and hierarchical database technologies
  • Experience in the use of information retrieval packages using query languages
  • Experience with one or more communications protocols
  • Experience in structured methodologies for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of applications
  • Experience eliciting and documenting information from diverse business area stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge and experience with programming Internet-ready applications
  • Knowledge and experience in rapid application development (RAD) methodologies
  • Knowledge and experience in Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.
  • Experience with middleware and gateways
  • Experience reviewing, analyzing, and modifying product installation scripts including encoding, testing, debugging
  • Ability to provide post-implementation support and resolve any post-implementation technical issues
  • Experience conducting design walkthrough sessions with project team
  • Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
  • Ability to provide user and system documentation as required.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements Technical Skills - 70% Must have: 5+ years’ Experience with analysis, design, developing, unit testing, defect fixing and other necessary tasks in data warehousing, BI environment. 5+ years’ experience in designing and developing Crystal reports, Power BI, and BOE reports 5+ years’ experience in Designing, developing and testing Oracle SQL and PL/SQL. 5+ years’ experience in Designing, developing and testing in Informatica. Experience with technology solutions and development methodologies Experience in analyzing and designing changes to existing web-based software solutions Complete knowledge of SDLC methodologies, e.g. Agile development. Experience in RDBMS design concepts. Experience with Data Warehouse design, Reporting and ETL concepts. Experience with Data Warehouse architecture, design, dimensional modeling, development and deployment of business intelligence systems.
