Software Developer Front Office Technology

Develop front-office technology with Scala learning and object-oriented programming skills at Morgan Stanley in Montreal, Quebec, through hybrid work.

This Associate-level Software Developer supports Fixed Income and Equities businesses within Morgan Stanley’s Technology division. You will design, develop, test, and maintain applications, platforms, and technology solutions. The work includes modern asynchronous calculation platforms, bitemporal data stores, and large-scale initiatives unifying business platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain front-office solutions for Fixed Income and Equities
• Contribute to technology initiatives unifying platforms across asset classes
• Collaborate with development teams across Asia and Europe
• Partner with strategists, risk managers, users, and stakeholders
• Apply Scala practices throughout the software development lifecycle

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field
• Experience with Java, C++, C#, or Python
• Strong interest in learning Scala and financial markets
• Understanding of client-server architecture, multithreading, and memory management
• Strong written, verbal communication, and collaboration skills
