Overview
In this role you will design, develop and maintain scalable backend systems using Java and C++ within Linux, contributing to architecture and engineering best practices in secure government and defence contexts. You will work on backend services, APIs and distributed applications to deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable software. You will help shape technical decisions and collaborate with engineering teams while supporting continuous improvements in development practices. This position offers the chance to work on technically challenging, security-focused software with an experienced team and active DV clearance.

- Strong experience working within Linux environments

- Understanding of software architecture, design patterns and object-oriented programming
- Experience with multithreading, debugging and performance optimisation
- Exposure to Docker, CI/CD, DevSecOps and Git workflows
- Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases
