Software Development Engineer Amazon S3

Build scalable Amazon S3 Metadata infrastructure using distributed systems and Apache Iceberg to make massive datasets instantly queryable.

As a Software Development Engineer II, you will design solutions for metadata storage and query processing at S3 scale. You will support Amazon S3 Metadata, a fully managed feature organizing object metadata for standard SQL access. Your work spans software development, system architecture, testing, deployment, and production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy scalable S3 Metadata software components
• Build distributed systems with Apache Iceberg
• Participate in code reviews and improve engineering practices
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional stakeholders
• Investigate issues and implement permanent reliability solutions

Requirements:

• Three or more years of professional software development experience
• Two or more years designing or architecting systems
• Experience programming with at least one software language
• Three or more years across the full software development lifecycle
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent preferred
