Software Development Engineer (Beacon)

In this role, you will design, build, deploy, and maintain high-quality code for Beacon Cloud’s Core Engineering team. You’ll work across developer tools, runtime execution, and client-facing features while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve performance, reliability, and security. You will leverage AI agents to speed up development and guide safe usage for clients and internal teams. This position emphasizes customer satisfaction, continuous learning, and delivering value in a SaaS environment. You will contribute meaningfully to scalable, maintainable software that supports our clients’ needs and the company’s mission.

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain quality code that is clear and well-tested
• Utilize AI agents to accelerate development and guide safe usage
• Break down complex problems with research and collaboration
• Communicate effectively with diverse audiences
• Implement and maintain multiple levels of automated tests
• Participate in design discussions to boost performance, scalability, reliability, and security
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for smooth integration
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents promptly

• Excellent proficiency in Python
• Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript, Rust a plus
• Strong command of a typed, object-oriented language
• Deep knowledge of software methodologies, tools, and architectural patterns
• Experience in SaaS environment and focus on user experience

• 2+ years of software development experience using Python or other OOP languages
