In this role you will design, develop and deliver autonomy-focused solutions for complex military aviation systems at QinetiQ’s Farnborough site. You’ll own technical work packages, contribute to R&D, and support integration and testing of autonomy and control technologies from concept to live trials. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to deliver operational capability, tackling challenging autonomy and decision-support problems. This is an opportunity to shape future crewed and uncrewed operations within a cutting-edge defence environment.

- Apply software and systems engineering principles to develop control and autonomy solutions
- Lead or contribute to algorithm development for autonomous and decision-support systems
- Develop production-level autonomy software using C, ideally C++, with Matlab exposure
- Analyse and model uncrewed systems within synthetic environments
- Support hardware integration, testing and formally assessed trials in the UK and overseas
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to deliver operational capability
- Proven C programming experience, ideally C++, in complex or safety-critical systems
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles
- Background in control, autonomy or complex software-based systems
- Experience with modelling, simulation or algorithm development
