Software Development Engineer, IAM Stores Security

As a Software Development Engineer in the Identity and Access Management group, you design and operate large-scale distributed systems that protect customer and corporate data. You work across teams to translate security and compliance needs into scalable platform capabilities, driving on-call reliability and high-performance data processing. You shape technical direction, mentor peers, and partner with security and service-owner teams to enable a trusted customer experience at scale. This role blends software craftsmanship with security-focused innovation.

• Design, build, and operate large-scale distributed systems processing security-relevant data with high availability and low latency
• Own services end to end including architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and on-call rotation
• Build libraries, integrations, and tooling to simplify platform adoption across Amazon engineering teams
• Work with very large datasets, designing data models, pipelines, and query patterns for speed and cost efficiency
• Collaborate cross-functionally with security, compliance, and service-owning teams to translate requirements into platform capabilities
• Contribute to technical direction through design documents, reviews, and cross-team influence
• Mentor engineers and raise the bar on code quality, security, and operational practices

• Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
• Experience programming in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# with object-oriented design
• Experience designing or architecting systems with reliability and scaling considerations
• Experience with full software development life cycle including coding standards, reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations
