Overview

In this role you will build and evolve the UI and backend for Expedia’s Search Results and Recs experiences across web, iOS, and Android. You will own features end-to-end, collaborating with product management, backend, and platform teams to deliver configurable experiences and scalable APIs. You will contribute to a unified platform that supports no-code/low-code updates and server-driven UI rollouts. The role emphasizes delivering high-quality software that enables brands to iterate content and layouts efficiently, driving traveler-focused experiences across Expedia’s brands and B2B products.

Responsibilities
  • Develop React-based user interfaces and backend capabilities
  • Design and contribute to API solutions and decisions
  • Own features from requirements through delivery with cross-functional support
  • Collaborate with product management, backend/domain, platform, and brand teams
  • Create reusable components and platform capabilities
  • Improve Expedia Group web, iOS, Android, and B2B experiences
  • Enhance clickstream data collection and content management for banners and product cards
  • Contribute to Vrbo product-card redesign and BEX redesign
  • Support rollout of server-driven UI and configuration-based layout updates
  • Migrate traffic from legacy systems to the new platform
  • Apply API design considerations, including traffic management and error handling
  • Deliver reliable software with a rigorous development approach and high quality
  • Deliver APIs and UI that scale with demand and enable cross-team collaboration
Key requirements
  • 2–3 years of software development experience
  • Full-stack experience across frontend and backend
  • Experience developing with React
  • Experience with Kotlin backend development; strong Java/Scala may be considered
  • Experience developing and integrating APIs
  • Understanding of API design considerations, traffic and error handling
  • Experience using existing component libraries
  • Proven ability to deliver software and communicate with stakeholders
  • Ability to work across frontend, backend, APIs, and platform capabilities
  • Effective communication with stakeholders
