Overview

In this role you contribute to building scalable, reliable backend systems that power Expedia Group’s Offers domain across brands. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver full-stack solutions and lead architecture and engineering standards. You’ll integrate AI/ML-enabled capabilities responsibly and improve production health and performance. The role offers meaningful impact by shaping how travelers see pricing and deals across platforms, within a supportive, innovative culture.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable, robust systems and services with a focus on reliability and performance
  • Develop complex application logic, APIs, and data models aligned to business goals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, full-stack solutions across platforms
  • Lead technical efforts in system architecture, code reviews, and engineering standards
  • Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions to improve outcomes
  • Proactively diagnose and resolve production issues to improve system health and operational excellence
Key requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms, Java or Kotlin, JVM stack
  • Experience building and operating high-performance backend services in public/hybrid clouds (Kotlin preferred)
  • Led engineering efforts for services at scale in cloud environments (preferably AWS) with IaaC tooling
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems
  • Strong system, API design, and data modeling skills
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools in daily workflows
