Overview

As a Software Development Engineer at BeyondTrust, you will advance our macOS endpoint security client, shaping architecture and delivering fast, reliable code. You’ll work within a cross-functional team to steer AI-assisted development, review outputs for correctness, and drive quality through testing and automation. You’ll own areas of the product over time, stay ahead of macOS security tech, and help resolve customer issues while aligning with our inclusive, customer-centric culture. This role offers impact at scale in a leading security platform.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build and maintain the macOS client for the endpoint security solution
  • Shape architecture of new features and provide technical direction
  • Review requirements to identify gaps and propose simplifications
  • Ensure code quality through rigorous reviews and testing
  • Develop and improve build, deployment and test automation
  • Identify and resolve technical debt within the team
  • Collaborate to ensure clear work items and high-quality sprint delivery
  • Investigate and resolve escalated customer issues and feed learnings back to the product
  • Track macOS and security tech trends and propose process/tool improvements
  • Become go-to development expert for a product area
Key requirements
  • Degree in software engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • Hands-on macOS development with Swift, Objective-C and/or C++, plus experience with systems-level/endpoint security software
  • Experience managing macOS launch daemons/agents, unified logging, and XPC components
  • Experience directing agentic AI development tools (e.g., Claude Code) and reviewing generated code for security and maintainability
  • Experience with formal software development methodologies
  • 2+ years of commercial software engineering experience (Senior level: 5+ years with leadership)
