Overview

In this on-site role, you will design and maintain PC-based software to test, verify, and support measurement products. You’ll collaborate with product design, manufacturing, and engineering to ensure software meets specs, quality, and traceability. You’ll handle data storage, reporting, and UIs, while supporting hardware refresh and obsolescence. This position offers hands-on work near hardware and manufacturing in Leicestershire, with meaningful cross-functional impact.

Responsibilities
  • Develop PC-based software applications to enable product testing
  • Interface with third-party measurement equipment and embedded sensors
  • Draft and maintain software and test specifications
  • Support data storage, traceability, and SQL databases
  • Design and maintain user interfaces beyond mere equipment communication
  • Diagnose and update software for hardware refresh/obsolescence
  • Perform fault finding across integrated electronic and software systems
  • Ensure full documentation and compliance with internal standards
  • Produce technical documentation and paperwork
  • Provide local software support to manufacturing when needed
  • Collaborate with product design teams to support NPI and existing products
Key requirements
  • Commercial experience with C++ or C#, using Qt and/or Visual Studio
  • Background in application development in an engineering or industrial environment
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills applied to test or data analysis
  • Experience with measurement or metrology equipment
  • Comfort with basic electronics and hardware-software interaction
  • Ability to manage workload and priorities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment with fixed deadlines
