Software Development Team Leader

  • Manage a Scrum team developing Payments software products using agile methodologies
  • Grow the team's skills and capabilities
  • Ensure high-quality output from developers and QA professionals
  • Help the team achieve delivery commitments through hands‑on contributions when needed
  • Ensure adherence to the Software Development process and work with the Software Development Manager to refine and improve it
  • Run the Agile/Scrum process for the team
  • Provide stakeholder and progress reporting
  • Identify and mitigate risks within the area of responsibility, escalating risks, issues, and challenges when appropriate
  • Acquire comprehensive domain knowledge of the products and business
  • Line manage team members, conduct appraisals, and set individual objectives
  • Work with the Tech Lead to ensure coding standards and consistent design patterns are followed
  • Ensure new development follows well‑considered technical designs
  • Coach the team and help them follow the Scrum process
  • Work on new features and enhancements, re‑architecting, defect fixes, and porting legacy code to new technologies

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience managing a team in an Agile/Scrum development environment
  • People Management, delegation, 121’s, goal setting
  • Scrum Master experience preferred
  • SDLC - Requirements Gathering, Software Design, Development and QA Testing, CI/CD pipelines
  • Stakeholder Reporting
  • Risk Management
  • Strong background in software development as either an engineer or QA at a senior level
  • A background in building web applications and services using the Microsoft .Net platform
  • Knowledge of DevOps – continuous integration, deployment, DORA metrics
  • Experience working in a Product‑led development environment
  • Experience of product discovery methods
  • Experience in the EdTech industry
