Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Working knowledge and experience in backend development using Java and Spring
  • Working knowledge and experience in frontend development using React and front-end testing frameworks
  • Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka
  • Familiarity with automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Working knowledge of agile methodologies such as continuous integration/continuous delivery, application resiliency, and security
  • Practical cloud-native experience
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment, with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations
  • Experience working within asset management, wealth management, or client-facing financial technology platforms
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Exposure to event-driven architecture and distributed systems design
  • Experience with modern front-end component libraries and design systems

Responsibilities:

  • Develop creative software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting to build solutions and solve technical problems
  • Contribute to expanding the digital experience offered to clients
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Demonstrate initiative by bringing ideas, passion, and ownership to improve the team and products
  • Engage with communities of practice across Software Engineering to learn about and adopt new and emerging technologies
  • Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation
