Software Engineer

In this role you support the Naval Combat Systems Integration Support Service (NCSISS) by delivering secure, containerised software deployments for Royal Navy systems. You will partner with software and systems engineers and defence customers to design and optimize CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments and resolve infrastructure issues. The work spans integration, testing and operational deployment within secure environments, contributing to UK defence capability. You’ll collaborate across organisations and stakeholders, driving continuous improvement and robust technical documentation. • Manage and configure CI/CD pipelines
• Deploy and support containerised applications in secure environments
• Investigate and resolve deployment and infrastructure issues
• Develop automation to improve delivery and operational efficiency
• Collaborate with QinetiQ, BAE Systems and MOD stakeholders on the NCSISS programme
• Produce technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

• Strong experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Experience with Helm, Ansible and infrastructure automation
• Working knowledge of Docker and/or Podman
• Experience building, maintaining and supporting CI/CD pipelines
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, able to work independently
• Experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering or Software Engineering environments
• Degree-level qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain Security Clearance (SC)
