Overview

In this role you will help evolve BT’s consumer billing platforms by building and improving backend services and microservices. You’ll work within a co-located engineering team to deliver reliable, scalable billing capabilities using Java/Spring Boot, AWS, EKS, and Oracle DB. You will contribute high-quality code, support CI/CD and incident response, and help shape resilient billing solutions for a modern, AI-enabled, enterprise platform. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering secure, production-ready software that supports customer journeys and platform improvements. Pay / Benefits

Responsibilities
  • Develop and enhance backend services and microservices supporting billing journeys and integrations
  • Write, test, and maintain high-quality code within engineering standards
  • Support build, test, deployment, and release activities for safe, reliable changes
  • Build Java/Spring Boot APIs and integrations that are secure, scalable, and maintainable
  • Contribute to design discussions, code reviews, and technical refinement
  • Adopt modern engineering practices (microservices, API-first, version control, automated testing)
  • Support deployment, operation, logging, monitoring, and resilience in AWS/EKS
  • Troubleshoot incidents, fix defects, and improve service reliability
  • Contribute to CI/CD improvements and deployment automation
  • Develop components interacting with Oracle DB and maintain data integrity and performance
  • Support billing platform integrations and ensure reliable dependencies with NetCracker RBM
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver billing solutions and foster a one-team culture
Key requirements
  • Java & Spring Boot development experience
  • Microservices and API development experience
